Renater Webster, age 65, resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. Thomas West Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home, with a burial to follow at Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 12, 1959, in Maury County, Tennessee, Renater was the daughter of the late Emerson Johnson and the late Mattie Bell Walker Caruthers. She was a proud 1979 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a devoted member of Macedonia Church of Christ. Renater was also a member of the American Legion and found joy in visiting The Mint Casino in Kentucky Kingdom, where she enjoyed playing the slot machines. Above all, she cherished her family, especially the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Laquitta Davis of Columbia and Ashley (Dante) Gassaway of Murfreesboro; brother, James (Mildred) Caruthers of Columbia; sisters, Minnie D. (Samuel E.) Davis, Patricia Martin, and Lora Johnson, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Evan Miller, Avery Gassaway, Danielle Gassaway, and Ayden Gassaway; best friends, Ann Napier Gaines, Sandra Maxwell, and Pam Armstrong; devoted nephew, Demetrius Craig; devoted aunt, Charlene Bills; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Webster, siblings, Wendell Walker, Lloyd Caruthers, Danny Caruthers, and Paulette Francis.
Renater’s nephews will serve as pallbearers, honoring her memory, while her nieces will serve as flower girls, and the Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1979 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
