Ilion - Renee K. Grimes, 46, of Ilion passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse with her family by her side.
She was born in Ilion, New York on February 25, 1977, the daughter of the late Jack and Becky Upson Pierce She attended Ilion schools and later attended John Paolo's Extreme Beauty Institute, Syracuse, NY. She was married to Paul Grimes on December 31, 2022 in Ilion, NY.
Renee was the owner and operator of Bella Damas Salon in Ilion for many years.
Renee is survived by her beloved husband, Paul; four sons and one daughter in law, Christopher and his wife, Elizabeth Pierce of Ilion, Alexander Matthews of Mohawk, Dante Grimes and his companion, Nikkiah Rios of Rome and John Scalise of Ilion; three daughters, Izzetta Matthews, Tara Matthews and Marissa Matthews all of Ilion; two brothers, Rob and his wife, Kim Pierce of Seneca SC and Scott and his wife, Linda Pierce of Ilion; one sister, Megan Pierce of Richmond, VA.; her cherished grandchildren, Sylvanas Pierce, Celaenas Pierce, Artimis Pierce, Asher Grimes and Sirius Pierce and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Jack Pierce, her mother and stepfather, Becky and Larry Kasper.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:30 AM in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort where a funeral service will be celebrated by the Rev. Gary Wilcox. Calling hours will be Saturday, February 10 from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
