It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, father, and grandfather Reuben Ronald Kissler.
Ron was born July 26, 1948 in Riverton, WY to Blanche and Reuben Kissler and passed away on November 1, 2025 at the age of 77 in Odessa, TX. He married his first wife Gloria Jean Shoemaker on October 4, 1970 and had two daughters, Rhonda (deceased) and Mykael. Later he subsequently married Roxie Malava Thorpe (deceased) on December 16, 1977 and gained three stepchildren, Merlisa, Rocky, and Seri.
Ron was a long-time resident of Casper raising and supporting all his children and grandchildren through years of 4-H and FFA activities, stock car racing, science fair projects, sports activities, and more. He enjoyed fishing, camping, darts, hunting, photography, gardening, fly-fish tying, and tinkering with absolutely everything. For years Ron was part of a local dart team with Roxie that frequently competed in Las Vegas and he was a fixture at the Saturday races at the local speedway. Ron was also a regular volunteer fighting fires in the surrounding areas and was always quick to step up when needed. Ron’s favorite past-time though was clearly spoiling his many grandchildren feeding them endless supplies of candy and pop before returning them to their parents. Ron was as stubborn as he was loving, a man who cared deeply for his family and always freely shared his love, friendship, wisdom, and support.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Blanche Kissler, daughter Rhonda Blair, grandson Wesley Harrod, brother Bill Cadwalader, and wife Roxie.
He is survived by his sisters Agnes (Bunky) Bleick and Cathy (Bob) Cook, brother George Kissler, stepdaughter Merlisa Harrod, stepson Rocky (Heather) Thorpe, daughter Mykael (Shawn) Graham, and stepdaughter Seriann Davis, son-in-law Jason (Amanda) Blair; granddaughters Gillian and Briana Harrod, Tristan, Jhade and Sydney Chase, Courtney and Madison Blair, Krystiana and Jessica Graham, Kimberly Hartsoch, Vivian Tidwell; grandsons Curtis Day, Dustin Bitzenhofer, Cody Hobgood, Mike Chase, Dravin Baker Hughes Confidential and Walker Thorpe, Randal McDonald; as well as nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
No formal service will be held at this time. A gathering will be held in Casper, WY at a date in the late spring to be announced. Following the gathering, his ashes will be spread in the Red Desert per his wishes so he can be with his late wife.
