REVAH STOKES
Revah Leon (Hafer) Stokes, age 110, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Eaglecrest Assisted Living in Salina, Kansas. She was born July 23, 1911 in Alliance, Nebraska a daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Foster) Hafer.
On January 4, 1931 in West Plains, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Glenn L. Stokes. Born to them into the union were three children, Virginia Smith, James Stokes and John Lloyd Stokes.
Revah was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator for twenty years at both Versailles, Missouri and Eldon, Missouri on the Lake of the Ozarks.
Revah enjoyed flower gardening and she hand-pieced together various sized quits for friends and family members. She sang with the Salina RSVP Singers for many years. She was an active member of Salina Heights Christian Church. Revah especially cherished family gatherings and birthday parties.
Survivors include seven grandchildren, Mark Smith, Rick Smith, Kent Smith, Jeff Stokes, Kelly (Stokes) Fleming, John David Stokes and Jacquelyn (Stokes) Ross; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alma (Foster) Hafer; her husband, Glenn L. Stokes; three children, Virginia (Stokes) Smith, James Stokes and John Lloyd Strokes; her siblings, Emily Holden, Earl Hafer, Helen Hafer, Hazel Ward and Esther Ensminger; a grandson, Jay Stokes and a great-great-grandson, Asher Smith.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles. Burial will follow in Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Versailles Cemetery Association.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
