Rex Earick

Rex E. Earick passed away in the early morning hours Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was 95 years old, or as he liked to say "older than dirt".
Rex was the third child born to Earnie and Eula Mae Earick April 21, 1929 in Ryan, OK. His father died 3 months later of TB. His mother met and married Tom Sandefer who he always considered his dad. They would become a blended family with 10 children, all of whom preceded him in death except for his baby sister Faye. His early childhood was spent in Morton, TX, but then they moved to Portales, NM which he considered his hometown. He moved to Roswell in the 1950s where he met and married Joyce on June 12, 1959 and raised 4 children. He held a lot of jobs here, from making donuts, to gas station attendant, to milkman, but retired from the Roswell WWTP after 28 years as a foreman.
His wife Joyce and his son Ernest preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his daughter Sherryl, son Douglas Lee with his wife Mary, and his daughter Renee. His grandchildren: George and his wife Emily, Jon, Kathrine and her husband Felix, Samuel and Grace with their mother Teresa and her husband Robert, Sarah, Mason and Cade. His great-grandchildren: Cas, Chloe, Saige, Lilianna.
