Rhonda Denise Paugh was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and loyal friend whose warmth, strength, and spirit touched all who knew her.

Born on August 26, 1956, Rhonda lived a life full of love and adventure. As the proud mother of Joshua Logan Branch, Jalieen Lacye Grogan, and Jessie Renay Sheren, her greatest joy came from her family. Her heart grew even fuller with her beloved grandchildren: Willow G. Branch, Liam N. Branch, Lillian R. Wilfong, Arianna B. Wilfong, and step-grandchildren Serenity Simmons and Dalten and Caiden Sheren.

She shared a lifelong bond with her brothers, Robert “Jeff” Paugh and Randall L. Paugh, and found deep friendship and chosen family in her best friend Leslie Ott, whose love and support were a constant throughout her life, among many others.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jackie L. Paugh and Ronalieen Y. Paugh, and grandparents James A. Cool and Genevieve D. Brady, who helped raise her and remained her guiding lights.

As the daughter of a U.S. Army servicemember, Rhonda lived around the world and delighted in sharing her many memories and stories with others. She attended school in Mill Creek, West Virginia, and graduated early from high school in Augsburg, Germany, in 1974-an early sign of her drive and intelligence.

Rhonda’s presence was a comforting constant to her family and friends and her love for living, reading, and writing adventures will never be forgotten. Her memory will be cherished and her spirit remembered with every story retold, every laugh shared, and every moment spent in the warmth of those she loved.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Reverend Clay Sterrett officiating.
