Ricardo M. Escamilla Sr., age 91, passed away on June 5, 2025. He was born on November 17, 1933 to Concepcion & Maria Escamilla in Agua Dulce, Texas and was raised in Banquete, Texas. Ricardo married his wife, Beatrice, on June 14, 1959; they were together for 55 years until her passing in July 2014. He was employed by Armour/Sam Hausman and was also a dedicated Volunteer for the Special Olympics-Texas.
Ricardo was a loving father who will always be remembered for the deep love he held for his family, his unforgettable heartwarming smile that lit up every room he entered and the care he poured into every detail of his work. His playful humor brought unexpected joy and left you smiling. But above all, he had a true servant's heart. His compassion and commitment to the Special Olympics-Texas inspired those around him to lead with kindness and live with purpose. In recognition of his remarkable efforts, he was honored as Volunteer of the Year and his family was celebrated as Family of the Year. He was a shining example of empathy, selflessness and the quiet strength of serving others.
Ricardo is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; son, Danny Escamilla; brothers, Joe Escamilla and Adam Escamilla; sisters, Rosemary E. Garcia, Juanita Ramerez, Eva Callejo and Guadalupe Deleon; and his parents, Concepcion and Maria Marquez Escamilla.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Ricardo M. (Frances) Escamilla Jr., and twins, Melissa Escamilla and Melinda (Lydia Castillo) Escamilla; granddaughters, Clarissa Escamilla and Jackie Mesquias, grandson, RJ Mesquias; great-grandchildren, Damien and Alana Mesquias, along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
All services will be held at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, with Visitation at 10am, the Rosary to be recited at 11am and the Funeral Service at 11:30am. Interment will immediately follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are: RJ Mesquias, JC Escamilla, Paul Anthony Garza II, Manuel Lopez IV, Nicholas Aguirre, and Lupe Sanchez Jr.
