Richard K. "Dick" Aldinger

Richard "Dick" K. Aldinger, 77, of Newington, passed away on June 16, 2024 following a short battle with spindle cell sarcoma. He was born in Hartford on October 31 "Halloween", 1946, son of the late Rudolph and Lillian (Madama) Aldinger. Dick served in the Army Reserves and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Hartford, where he also played on the football and golf teams. He was awarded a Master of Science in management from the Hartford Graduate Center and worked as an Assistant Comptroller at various Connecticut hospitals for most of his career. A long-time golfer and fisherman, in retirement, he was an avid reader, sudoku player, and cherished time with his grandchildren. Dick was witty, kind, and beloved by all who knew him.
Dick was the cherished husband of Corinne (Duda) Aldinger for 53 years. He is also survived by his loving children John Aldinger and his wife Laura, and Kimberly Aldinger and her partner Scott Houghtaling; grandchildren Chloe and Grayson Houghtaling; sister June Morrin and her husband John; nieces Amy Morrin Bello and her husband Rich, and Julie Morrin; great nieces Lily, Sarah, and Kathryn Bello; and his son's in-laws Mary and Jim Martinelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dick's family on Wednesday, June 26th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Newington. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
