Born on June 26, 1942 to Lona and Read Badger. Richard grew up in Ogden, UT with one sister.
Richard graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1960. After graduating, he attended Weber State College. At the age of 21 he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England.
He married Patricia D. Mundy in 1967. They had two daughters, Debbie and Kimberly. Richard loved fishing trips to Yellowstone, cruising with friends, and trips to National Parks and Hawaii.
Two months after he was married, Richard was drafted into the Army where he worked in mechanized stock control. He was deployed to Vietnam for one year where he worked in a trailer with computer equipment. He was then deployed to Furth, Germany for a year and a half. Luckily his wife was able to go with him to Germany.
When he returned from military service, Richard was hired by Jack B. Parsons Co. as their computer specialist. He worked there for 35 years.
Richard also worked at the church's peach orchard for which he was very proud.
He is survived by his wife, his children: Debbie (Derek) Sheffield and Kimberly (Drew) Wanner; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and his sister, Ann (Kirk) Laughter.
Thank you to George E. Whalen Veterans Home for their excellent care.
