Obituary of Richard D Bailey
Richard D. Bailey, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2024 with his family by his side. Richard, age 89, was born on May 3, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a tool and die machinist and shop foreman for GAF Corporation in Vails Gate, New York. He married the love of his life Nancy Tryborn Bailey and were married for 66 wonderful years. Richard loved spending time with his family. He especially took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He loved all animals, especially his Boston Terriers. Family and friends knew him as a generous and kind man who could fix just about anything that was given to him. His presence in our lives will be dearly missed.
Richard is survived by his wife Nancy; son Richard Bailey of Montgomery; daughter Cathy Greenfield and husband Luke of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Jennifer Cox and husband Justin of North Carolina, Pamela Rutkowski and husband Jeff of Wallkill, Luke D. Greenfield and wife Melissa of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Trinity, Anthony, Aubrey, Kylie, Madison, Brianna, Carlie and Leo.
Richard was predeceased by his parents Walter Bailey and Helen Kurz Bailey, as well as his younger brother Freddy Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to Shriners Children's, Wounded Warrior Project or the Humane Society of Walden.
Visitation will be held on Sunday April 28, 2024 from 11:00-1:00PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586.
Prayers will be offered at 11:45AM.
