Richard L. Booth

Richard L. Booth, age 81, of Howard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 15, 1943, the son of John E. and Stella (Vess) Booth. Richard retired from Cooper Energy Services in Mount Vernon.
Richard could be described as a "simple man." Nothing was more important to him than the quality time he spent with family. Whether it was hunting for mushrooms, playing cornhole, canoeing or sitting beside a good campfire, "Poppy" was content being with his wife, kids, grandkids, and friends. He was a member of the Eden Church of Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean (Goudy) Booth, whom he married on November 7, 1964, his children, Brian (Barbie) Booth of Howard, Brenda (Keith) Buckingham of Howard and Carrie (Tim) Hubbell of Howard, six grandchildren, Kasey (Gavin) Grogg, Trent (Lauren) Buckingham, Logan Buckingham, Ava Buckingham, Amber (Chris) Kemmer and Kricket Willey, fifteen great grandchildren, two brothers, John Booth of Mount Vernon and David (Donna) Booth of Massillon.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, James Booth, Thomas Booth, Rodger Booth, Larry Gardner, Robert Loy, nine sisters, Nancy Kent, Pat Elkins, Joan Bailey, Jane Abraham, Sandra Cunningham, Jean Snow, Marlene Melton, Connie Booth, and Sue Gardner.
The family will observe private services at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Richard L. Booth.
