Richard Born Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Mr. Richard Albert Born, known affectionately as Rick, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 81, in Bradenton, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford M. Born, and his mother, Catherine (Schrohenloher) Born.

He was the devoted father and stepfather of Matthew (Margaret) Pascuzzi, Trevor (Diana) Born, and Elyse Born, successfully raising each alongside Nikki Born. He was also the loving grandfather to five grandchildren-Joey, Jordan, Julianna, Troy, and Gabriella-and two great-grandchildren, Dax and Jett. Rick was the dear brother of the late Barb (the late George) Limke, late Clifford (Becky) Born, Gil (Carol) Born, Nancy (Hank) Koch, late Lori (Jim) Schwartz, Sister Janet Born O.S.F., Gene (Maureen) Born, and Gerry (Kathy) Born, and was survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rick was a man of selflessness, kindness, and intellect. Born on September 19, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he first gave time to the Catholic Church and later graduated from Xavier University, where he cultivated not only his sharp mind but also his enduring love for education. This passion propelled him into a lifelong career as an educator and master of mathematics, touching the lives of countless students and learners through his teaching and tutoring.

Beyond the classroom, Rick devoted immeasurable time and energy to coaching tennis, feeding his passion for the sport. His belief in the potential of every individual under his tutelage made him a beloved figure among students and colleagues alike. In addition to his teaching and coaching, Rick also worked as a construction foreman and in the painting industry. He was always the go-to person for friends and acquaintances when they needed a fresh look for their homes. His meticulousness and dedication to these crafts matched the devotion he placed toward his family and friends.

Rick's infectious laugh, wholesome character, and unrelenting positivity enabled him to become friends with almost anyone. He left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though we mourn his departure, we also celebrate the extraordinary life of Mr. Richard Albert Born. His was a well-lived life, full of warmth, genuine affection, and generosity. Rick will be profoundly missed, yet his teachings, laughter, and the memories he created will forever resonate with those fortunate enough to cross his path. With the love he gave his family, his memory will never fade, and he will always remain in their minds and hearts.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, Florida.
