Richard Dale Bushue, age 77, of Rural Jasper County, Illinois, peacefully passed away at
5:21 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Montrose, Illinois. Visitation will take place Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the church. Richard will be laid to rest in the St Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Montrose, Illinois. To honor Richard's memory, memorial gifts may be made to the Community Support System of Teutopolis, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Richard Dale Bushue, age 77 was born on July 20, 1946, in Effingham, Illinois. The son of Ruben and Waneta (Stock) Bushue. Richard married his wife Sue Jansen on August 19, 1967
at the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Montrose, Illinois, and she survives.
Richard was a loving husband and father who provided for his family by farming. He enjoyed being outdoors and working his land. Richard was a member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Montrose, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion of Dieterich, He proudly served his country during the Viet Nam War by serving in the United States Navy. Richard loved to go fishing in Canada, taking trips with his wife, camping, deer hunting and chatting with friends and neighbors when they would stop by. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He especially loved attending all of their sporting events as often as he could.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Sue (Jansen) Bushue of Teutopolis, Illinois
Children: Tammy (Dennis) Carie of Effingham, Illinois, Jill (Dan) Ochs of Newton, Illinois and Aaron (Amber) Bushue of Effingham, Illinois.
Grandchildren; Kirstin (Joshua) Liddiard, Alex (Amy) Carie, Michael Carie, Natalie Carie, Katie Carie, Aliyah Bushue, and Frank Bushue.
Great-Grandchildren; Joel Liddiard, Connor Liddiard and Duncan Carie.
Siblings; Lois Kramer of Farina, Illinois, Daniel Bushue of Effingham, Illinois, Don (Aleta) Bushue of Effingham, Illinois, and Marsha (Ben) Hilligoss of Glenarm, Illinois.
In-Laws; Judy Loafman of Effingham, Illinois, Lynn Stremming of Jacksonville, Illinois, Kathy (Bill) McClain of Effingham, Illinois, Janet (Michael) Pierson of Effingham, Illinois and Gerald "Jerry" (Peggy) Jansen of Effingham, Illinois.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Mother and Father-in-Law; Frank and Mary Jansen, Brothers-in-Law; Playford McManaway, Vern Loafman, Marion Kramer and Gene Stremming. Sisters-in-Law; Sheila Jansen and Maggie Bushue. Nephew Nicholas Kramer and niece Kim Bushue.
