Richard Joseph Carroll, 68, formerly of Harwinton, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on February 20, 1957, Richard built his life and career in Connecticut, where he worked for many years as a dedicated truck driver and a man of many talents, providing for his family through hard work and determination. After retiring, he and his beloved wife, Tambra, fulfilled their dream of traveling the country together - exploring new places, meeting new people, and enjoying life on their own terms.
Richard was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who lived with grit, loyalty, and humor. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Tambra Carroll; his children, Christine Holley and her husband Justin Holley, and Justin Carroll and his wife Casey Carroll; his cherished granddaughters, who brought him endless joy; his brother and four sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Nancy Carroll, and many other loved ones.
Richard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, stubborn streak, dry wit, and quiet but steady love for those closest to him. Beneath his tough exterior was a man who loved deeply, lived honestly, and would do anything for his family.
A celebration of life will be held in Connecticut in the spring of 2026, where family and friends will gather to remember and honor Richard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project Foundation.https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/, or the Tunnel to Towers https://t2t.org/.
