Richard C. "R. C." Carty, age 90, Logansport, passed away peacefully at 6:29 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Chase Center.
Born January 9, 1933, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he was the son of Will and Mollie Howard Carty.
On August 8, 1974, he married Margie Clark Carty, who survives.
"R. C." was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had been employed at Indiana Motor Bus, Sears and Jackson-Kitchell.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Marty Carty, Florida, step-son, Mikel "Mike" Smith (companion, Barbara Stacey), Logansport; daughters, Leisha Carty, North Carolina, Ginger (Vincent) Diedrich, Florida; brother, Shannon (Marcie), Kentucky; sisters, Dollie Mae Arnett and Theda (Bill) Salyer, all of Kentucky.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, David, Bruce, Sandy, Angela, Mollie and Victoria; step grandchildren, Shane (Jaime) Hosler, Shawn (Tori) Wooldridge and Mikel Smith.
Burial will be in Carty Cemetery, Salyersville, Kentucky, in Magoffin County, where many relatives are still located.
A private family viewing will be at Kroeger Funeral Home.
Local funeral services for R.C. Carty will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, April 20, 2023 from the Carty Regular Primitive Baptist Church at Middle Fork, Kentucky. David Gamble and Daniel Ison will be officiating. Family and Friends may visit the Magoffin County Funeral Home Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. and at the church anytime prior to funeral services Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a church of your choice.
The family wishes to thank Chase Center for kind and compassionate care during "R. C."'s stay.
