Richard Sloan Dominick

Richard Sloan Dominick, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was born on January 20, 1947, in the same community that he cherished throughout his life. Richard was 78 years old.

Richard dedicated thirty-five years of service as a mechanic at Proctor & Gamble, where he was known for his exceptional skill and hard work. Beyond his professional achievements, Richard embraced life with a passion for helping others, always ready to lend a hand as a skilled handyman. His generosity extended into volunteering, where he contributed to his community in numerous ways.

A devoted man of faith, Richard loved the Lord and expressed his devotion by distributing Christian tracts and engaging with his church family. He attended First Baptist Church Summerfield, where his memory will be cherished by many.

Richard's interests were as vibrant and colorful as his beloved Hawaiian shirts, which he wore year-round, as well as his shorts. He found joy in spending time with his dogs, Kayce and Jesse, who were his faithful companions. Playing with his grandchildren brought him immense happiness, and he treasured moments spent with his great-grandson, Wyatt.

Richard was a graduate of Grimsley High School and furthered his education at Wingate and GTI. He enjoyed going to Calibers Shooting Range and hanging out with friends at Colfax Gun and Ammo.

He is preceded in death by his father, Earle Dominick, and his mother, Betty Dominick. Richard is survived by Fran Dominick, his devoted wife of 32 years; his daughter, Kim Bryant (James); grandchildren, Blake Shoe (Taylor) and Seth Bryant; great-grandson, Wyatt Shoe; his sister, Nancy Dominick; niece, Shannon Robinson (Patrick); and his cherished dogs, Kayce and Jesse.

A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on August 6th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Summerfield, with visitation to follow the service.
