Richard Ralph Drain, age 70, passed away at Saint Luke's on the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri on May 28, 2025.
Richard was born on April 12, 1955 in Colony, Kansas, to Charles and Dorothy (Karr) Drain. He was in the last class of eighth graders that graduated from the elementary school in Piqua, Kansas. He then attended school at Yates Center High School, where he played football, and graduated with the class of 1973, before attending Allen County Community College. Afterward, he went to Emporia State University and graduated in 1977 with a degree in history.
When Richard returned to the Allen County area, he worked for a rent-to-own company for a few years, then went to work as a manager for Taco Bell. He was a dedicated employee of the restaurant until his retirement in 2024.
Richard was a wonderful brother and uncle. He was a huge history buff, and loved Star Wars and collecting comic books. Richard enjoyed going to his nieces' and nephews' school and sporting events. He was all around an interesting person who could speak on many subjects.

He is survived by sister, Ruth (Roy) Allen; brother, Thomas (Darla) Drain; nephews, Patrick and Andrew Allen, and Nathan Drain; nieces, Dana Harris, Laura Bradley, and Arwen Drain; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other friends and family.
