Richard is survived by his wife, Carol Emery Fullerton; children, Cindy (Roger) Kirwan, Gale (David) Furguson, Bruce (Deborah) Fullerton, Leigh Fullerton, John Fullerton; eight grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Richard was a WWII veteran in the US Navy serving in Guam, Okinawa, and China. He received a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Cincinnati, graduated from the University of Cincinnati Medical School with honors, and completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Rochester.
Richard was an OB/GYN for over 40 years and Clinical Professor of Gynecologic Surgery at UR Medical School. He was a pioneer in the development of urogynocology surgery. He received the Certificate of Merit from the Rochester Academy of Medicine. Richard remained in Rochester for the duration of his career. He was also a member of Oak Hill Country Club.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richard E. Fullerton Scholarship Fund, UR Department OB/GYN, PO Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627.
