EAST FAIRFIELD - Richard "Dick" A. Hale died peacefully January 12, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
Born in East Fairfield, VT on April 5, 1938 the son of the late Burton H. Hale and Caroline (Lawyer) Hale.
Dick was raised in a farm family, the second of 9 children. He enjoyed the chores and outdoors before serving in the Army. He returned home from Germany and married Georgette Dufresne, his wife of 65 years. Together they raised 3 children, while Dick pursued a career in the printing industry. He retired from Bertek after 25 years.
Outside of work he enjoyed playing golf, deer hunting, going for rides, maple sugaring, and keeping a neat lawn. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him the most joy. He was known for his generosity, sense of humor, and telling great stories of a life well lived.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Georgette Hale; his beloved children, Scott Hale and his wife Brenda, and Tina Bailey and her husband David; his grandchildren whom he was so proud of, Jennifer, Tyler, Erynn, Carrie, Shane, Kayla, and Jonathan; his great grandchildren whom he enjoyed visits from, Austin, Camden, Trinity, Fayth, Lilly, Pyper, Mayvis, Evander, Gladys, Wynifred, Emmett, Finley, Calvin, Chase, Everlee, Olivia, and Owen; his siblings, Mark Hale, Marvin Hale, and Carolyn Clark; siblings-in-law, Suzanne Stone, Anita Longley, and Andrew Dufresne; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his son, Glenn; grandson, Steven; and siblings, Barbara Riley, Cora Ovitt, Burton Hale, Brenda Wright, and Stuart Hale.
Friends & family are invited to Dick's life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will be held at a later date in St. George Cemetery in Bakersfield.
For those who wish, contributions in Dick's memory may be made to the Fairfield Community Center, Attn: Eleanor Wirts, P.O. Box 16, East Fairfield, VT 05448, noting "in memory of Dick Hale".
