Richard David Halstead

Richard David Halstead, 87, passed away on May 31st, 2025, in Boise, Idaho, after years of suffering with dementia. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hope and Jim Halstead; his brothers, Jim and Jack; his sisters, Lorraine, Bobbie, and Joyce; his wife, Virginia; and his daughter, Shannon. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Rhonda; his granddaughter, Lisa; his adopted son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Tawna; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Sue; his sister, Linda; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was a great provider for his family, as well as a great dad to his kids. He spent several years working in retail. He drove semis for awhile, driving cross-country, finally becoming a driver supervisor for a Budweiser distributor.
He enjoyed playing catch with his son in the summer after getting home from work. He loved watching boxing, college football, and NASCAR.
He will be missed.
