Richard S. Hess

Richard S. Hess of Bethlehem, PA, died on December 11, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg at the age of 78. He was born on May 19, 1947, in Bethlehem to the late Norman R. Hess and the late Evelyn H. (Correll) Hess.
After graduating Liberty High School in 1966, he entered the military and served during Vietnam with the Military Police in the United States Airforce.
Richard was a very hard worker and held many positions of employment and worked up until his death. He was a roofer, a machinist at Apollo Metals, a pigment specialist at Rockwood (formerly known as Pfizer) and most recently an assistant manager for the Liquor Control Board at a Wine and Spirits Store.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman R. Hess Sr. and Evelyn H. (Correll) Hess, brother Norman R. Hess, Jr., and his sister, Francis A. Kisthardt.
He is survived by his brother, William L. Hess of Bethlehem, daughter Opal Dunlap and husband Jason Dunlap of Cresco, PA; daughter Alison Krock of Roseto; granddaughter Adison Dunlap and grandson Jacob Krock Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will take place at the discretion of the family at a future date.
