Richard Thomas Hricik

On August 6, 1953, Richard Thomas Hricik was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert and Eleanor (Tomasek) Hricik. Rich attended Solon High School and wed his sweetheart, Linda (Ogle) Hricik on May 24, 1975. In that same year, Rich purchased his historic home, built in 1834, and affectionately referred to as "the homestead". Throughout his ownership, and with the help of friends, Rich rebuilt the house, pouring his love into the many projects and making the historic house a home. Rich and Linda shared nearly 50 years of marriage together and two children, Heather Hricik and Laurel (Keith) Ljubi. He was a cherished Pap to John Mariano, Jr., and Arden and Asher Ljubi.
Rich was a friend to many. Throughout the years, he kept close contact with his High School buddies, up until his very last days. He loved baseball and enjoyed attending Cleveland Indians baseball games. One of Rich's favorite pastimes was treating his family to concerts of rock legends such as Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. He made friends easily, whether from his work at Stouffer's/Nestle or through the International Food Technologists organization, which helped raise money for the Cleveland Food Bank. In his retirement, Rich served as a board member on the Solon Historical Society and was a long-time member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Rich will be remembered for his sense of humor, friendship and his deep love and care for his family. He will be greatly missed and forever loved. Richard entered into eternal rest, reuniting with his daughter Heather, and joining many other cherished loved ones on March 21, 2025, at the age of 71.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Thursday April 10, 2025 from 4pm-7pm at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home located at 33375 Bainbridge Road, Solon, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 7pm. On Friday April 11, 2025, at 11:30am, friends and family are welcomed to gather at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home for a funeral procession and burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio.
