Dick was my next door neighbor for many years. He always made me feel welcome. He would talk about anything. I could always go to him with any kind of problem I was having with my house or some appliance and he would give me advice. He was a big fan of YouTube and all the how-to videos on there. He never fussed when people had to go in his yard to do work on my house, which was often. He told me about how a previous owner turned his whole driveway into mud when they did my house´s chimney decades ago, but he told the story with a smile. I will really miss him. Thank you Dick.

I live in Dick´s neighborhood and just kind of knew him as the lawnmower, snowblower, bicycle guy, because he would always have something in the yard for sale during the summer! I bought a couple of snowblowers from him, and that´s when I learned his name, the story behind the two Winnie the Pooh´s in the picture window, and go a little glimpse into who Dick was. I then interacted with him more, paying for annual tuneups to keep them in working shape. My last memory of Dick is from this past October, when a snowblower that he had tuned up would not work. He took it apart again and got it working. He wouldn´t let me pay him. That´s an example of the hard-working person he was! I drive by his house now and keep waiting for the bicycles of summer to appear.

We have many memories of walking our dogs by Dick during his sidewalk sales, selling bikes, lawn mowers, snowblowers that he´d reconditioned. Alway warm and welcoming, an important thread in the fabric of Kingfield Neighborhood. We miss you Dick.
