Richard Madden Obituary

Richard Francis Madden, 75, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on March 18, 2026. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Richard proudly served in the Massachusetts National Guard as part of the 101st Field Artillery Unit. He carried that same sense of dedication and strength throughout his life, always showing up for the people he loved.

Richard was the definition of selfless, hardworking, loyal, and generous. He was never one to sugarcoat anything-he told it like it was, stood by his family no matter what, and was always there for those closest to him. Above all, he will be remembered as an incredible father and a man who always put his family first.

He found joy in the simple things-gardening, sailing, skiing, cookouts, and good music. A proud Boston sports fan, he loved cheering on the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and Boston Bruins, and spending time doing anything his children enjoyed. If it mattered to them, it mattered to him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Madden; his son, Anthony Madden; his daughter, Kristina Sideri, and her husband, Steven Sideri Jr;his sister, Michel Lush; and his brothers, Mark Madden, Frankie Madden, and Lance Madden.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David MacMillian; his mother, Evelyn MacMillian; and his father, Frank Madden.

The family will receive friends from 11-12pm with a memorial service to follow on March 28th at Altmeyer Funeral Home Maestas Chapel located at 1801 Baltic Ave, Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be offered at www.altmeyerfh.com.

Richard will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
