Richard was born on February 10, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, the third son of Patrick and Evelyn (Kaiser) Mallon. After the premature death of his father, he and his brother, Frank resided with the McGrath family in Laingsburg. He graduated from Laingsburg High School in 1962 and later worked at General Motors Assembly Plant in Lansing.
He is survived by his son, Craig Lee Mallon, and daughter, Hydee Marie Stehik. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph (Joan) Mallon and children, brother Frank (Sharon) Mallon and children, and the children of his deceased sister, Connie (Richard) Malacusky. Foster family members: Dan McGrath (Stellla), Gene McGrath (Penny), Rita Farr (Leonard), Rose Marie Clark Reitz (John) and all of their children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 310 N. Crum St. Laingsburg, on Friday, January 5, 2024. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Laingsburg.
