Richard Mike Mason, age 73, of West Columbia, SC passed away at his home on February 19, 2025. He is survived by his son, Richard Mark Mason (Marchell), former daughter-in-law Tina Mason Mizzell, two grandchildren, Taylor Mason Wong (Landon) and River TM Mason, and two great grandchildren Tyler and Meredith. Also survived by his former wife Berta Prall Mason Puckhaber, mother of Mark and Michelle, and sister, Sue Mason Beal (Mike) and two nieces Laura and Lindsay.
He was an avid fisherman and long standing member of the Midland Striper club. He won many striper tournaments and passed on his love and success at fishing to his son, granddaughter, and grandson.
He was a fantastic gardener and his vegetables were well loved and enjoyed by many neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by he and Berta's daughter Meredith Michelle Mason Cooper and parents Richard Hurley Mason and Carrie Ruth Mason Patterson.
The family would like to thank Mike's longtime friend and fishing buddy James Albert for his friendship to Mike and for all the help he provided Mike taking him to and from doctors appointments.
