Clydene Mason, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Madison Center in Morgantown. She was born on June 1, 1942, in Library, Pennsylvania, daughter to the late Clyde C. Mason and Beulah (DeLong) Mason.
Clydene was a proud graduate of Barrackville High School and carried the values service throughout her life as a beloved member of her community and cherished friend.
She was a member of the Morgantown Elks Lodge 411 and the West Virginia Elks Association and served as past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #548. She also a member of the Morgantown Moose Lodge.
In addition to her community engagements, Clydene had a passion for showing horses at area horse shows where she connected with others who shared similar interests.
Clydene is survived by close friends, Jesse Alt Jr., John Z., as well as John Kisner and many other friends and neighbors in the community who will remember her spirited personality.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time companion, David Casteel.
Clydene Mason will be missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, devotion, and the joy she brought to her community.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
Inurnment at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mt. Morris, PA will take place at a later date.
