Survived by his two loving daughters, Amy Meister and Christy Lippmann; grandchildren, Amelia and Samuel Lippmann; and his dog, Ally.
Rick was an English teacher at Ingomar and Marshall Middle schools in the North Allegheny School District, but his true passion was coaching. He began his nearly 50-year coaching career as the girls' basketball coach at St Teresa of Avila in Perrysville, and then moved to North Allegheny where he coached girls' basketball and softball. During his 23 years as a softball coach, his teams won 3 WPIAL titles and one state championship. He will be inducted into the North Allegheny Hall of Fame this fall.
A Memorial Service will be held August 21, 2021 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 5910 Babcock Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. The church will also be streaming the service live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs8FDhc0te4
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wolf Haven International, 3111 Offut Lake Rd SE, Tenino WA 985589 (www.wolfhaven.org) in Richard's name would continue his and Marilyn's support of this cause.
