Obituary of Richard F. Mossner
Mossner, Richard F.
Hemlock, Michigan
Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend passed away peacefully at his home on December 31, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old. Richard Frederick Mossner was born on March 4, 1947 in Saginaw to the late Erwin and Frieda (Reinert) Mossner. He graduated from Arthur Hill Tech School. He was married to Joyce Ann Crandall on September 12, 1970 in Saginaw. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2008.
Richard worked for General Motors for over 30 years as a Machine Oiler at Delphi and Delco Moraine. In his free time, Richard loved to be outdoors, enjoying canoe trips, fishing with family, peaceful walks and riding his bike. During retirement he embarked on new endeavors by attending truck driving school, followed by driving trucks for a few different companies. Richard faithfully volunteered at Four Points United Methodist Church, and signing in their choir. In the recent months, Richard would worship with his brother, Don at Ascension Lutheran Church.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Randall) Douglas; grandsons: Corey "C.J." Koebke Jr. and Wyatt Douglas; great grandchildren: Coraline and Cooper Koebke; his brother, Donald Mossner; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings: Barbara, Betty and Melvin; and his fiancé, Gladys Cain, who brought much love and joy for eleven years until her passing in 2021.
SERVICE: In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8695 Gratiot Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Family and friends will gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Ascension Lutheran Church (www.ascensionlc.org) or IM SAFE Child Advocacy Center (www.imsafecac.org).
