BARNHART: Richard Alvin "Rick" Moyers, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on May 7, 2025 at his residence at the age of 68. He was born May 21, 1956 in Farmington to the late Oscar Alvin Moyers and Freda Rosetta (Weston) Moyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard "Gene" Moyers.
Rick was a 1974 graduate of Farmington High School and soon thereafter entered the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. He was primarily stationed in San Francisco and Bremerton, Washington. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked at Todd Shipyards in Seattle until relocating back to Farmington in 1989. For a number of years Rick worked at the Potosi, Missouri Department of Corrections before embarking on a long career as an industrial maintenance mechanic at Archer Daniels Midland from where he retired in 2023. He was a member of Amvets and the VFW.
Rick was very family oriented and loved family get togethers especially grilling out and just having a good time. He was an avid collector of various memorabilia.
Survivors include his children, Richard "Ricky" Moyers and his wife, Lesa, and Cory O'Dell and her husband, Anthony; five grandchildren, Brock, RJ "Trey", Ashlynn, Catlin (RJ), and Justin; one great granddaughter, Zameria; his friend for life, Paula Moyers; siblings, Garry Moyers, Teresa Contreras and Thelma "Timmy" Bellew; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the funeral at 11:30 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be made in Rick's name to the AMVETS.
