Richard A. Mumford

Mr. Richard A. Mumford III, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 24, 2024, at the age of 43. He was born on April 11, 1981, in Mobile Alabama, the son of Richard Mumford Jr. and Vanester Mumford of Castroville Texas.
Richard attended Taft High School and graduated with the class of 1999. He attended Northwest Vista College and San Antonio College. His career spanned over a couple of decades, including employment at Texas Instruments, Wachovia, VLSI and his present employer, General Electric. He found joy in spending time with friends and family.
To cherish his memories, Richard leaves, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Marie Mumford of Mobile Alabama. He was a friend to his brothers, Terrell (Rose) Mumford of Mico Texas, Derrick (Carla) Mumford of San Antonio, Texas, and Javian (Ashley) of Springfield, Missouri. He loved his sister, Quinyatta Mumford of Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was loved dearly by his aunts, Berdia Foster of Centerville VA, Viola (Mack) Williams of Greenville Al, Sha (Carl) Elliott of Garland TX, Sharron Mumford of Manassas VA Quency (Cedric) Henson of Castroville, TX
Uncles Samuel (Ricky) Curry, Jeffrey Odell Curry, Michael (Lois) Curry, Randy (Deborah) Curry, Milton Willis of Mobile AL, Alan Mumford of Powder Springs GA.
And a host of niece's nephews and cousins.
Richard took immense pride in being a devoted uncle to his nieces, nephews and other children who loved him as a true uncle. His devotion to his family was evident in all aspects of his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Richard leaves fond memories with Nicole Thrash.
Throughout his life, Richard touched the hearts of those around him with his kindness, generosity and gentle spirit. He will be dearly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will endure forever.
