Richard "Rick" Nolan, age 71, of Kohler, WI, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2025.
He was born on March 19, 1954, in Phillips, Wisconsin to the late Elory and Shirley (Craig) Nolan. Rick graduated from Kohler High School in 1972. In 1975, he married Jean Kraus. Jean preceded him in death on October 26, 1999.
Rick worked at the Kohler Company from 1974 until 2004, then continued his career with Home Depot, where he was a valued employee until his retirement in 2024.
Rick had a lifelong love of music and could play a variety of instruments, many of those being self taught. He fondly remembered his time in high school jazz band. His other passions included amateur radio, computers, and lifelong learning-especially in the areas of science and history.
Rick was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and cherished the memory of visiting Lambeau Field for the first time with his son.
Above all, Rick gave his time and energy generously, always ready to help those he loved. Becoming a grandfather was one of his greatest joys. He wore the name "Grandpa" with pride, faithfully attending sports practices, school events, and extracurricular activities, supporting his granddaughters with genuine enthusiasm and love.
Rick's humor and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his three children, Erin Nolan, Jessica (Matthew) Kostka, Justin Nolan (Elena Catalan); two grandchildren, Aubrey and Brenna Kostka; sister, Carol (Steve) Kohls; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister, Sue Nolan.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
