Richard Charles Osborne died in his home on December 20, 2023, after a heroic battle with cancer.  He was 84 years old.  Richard was born January 27, 1939, in Groton, Connecticut to the late Hilliard Charles Osborne and Ann Marie Baehr.  He was a great father and stepfather, outstanding “pawpaw” to all his grandchildren, and was well respected by all family and friends who had the privilege of knowing him.

“Pops” was the most unselfish human being most folks have encountered… He was a giver, and often did without helping others.  He was incredibly humble, kind, witty, friendly, etc.  He often dropped what he was doing to come to the aid of others.  He had a consistent strong faith, went to daily mass, attended personal retreats, and always put God first.  His specialty was remaining positive during a crisis and encouraging others to succeed.  He was our number one cheerleader when it came to making it through college or a military career.  You could always call on him for the perfect guidance, and we will truly miss this great gift of his.

Richard was an Air Force Veteran, 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, worked for the federal government most of his career, and retired as the Director of Publications and Printing at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS.  He was also a recreational pilot in his earlier years.

Richard is survived by his wife Rosalie Valenti Osborne of 47 years, his children Richard, David, and Donna, and stepsons Michael and Randy.  He is also survived by his grandkids Jackson, Clayton, Kaitlin, Mollie, Alexa, Lauren, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Rosalie, Ronnie, Lydia and Patrick.

Friends are invited to gather with the family at Richards services on Friday, December 29th at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433.  A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with a funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m.  Burial to follow directly after mass at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, MS.
