Von Monroe Vargo, born on July 18 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on August 6,2025, in Mandeville, Louisiana. He lived a full life marked by his love for family and a passion for outdoors.
He survived by his beloved spouse, Mary Ann Haydel Vargo, and his children, Toscha Marie Smith (Steve) and Von Monroe Vargo Jr. (Jenna). Von was a proud grandfather to Rebekah Danielle Kocsis (BIlly), Sarah Marie Kocsis, Zivah Giovanna Vargo, and Isaiah Louis Vargo, as well as a great-grandfather to Daniel Vaughn Kocsis, Tiggy Rose Hebert-Veit, and Harper Helen McGeever. He also leaves behind his brother, Vic Vargo.
Throughout his life, Von enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending cherished moments with his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Wednesday Evening Bass Club, where he shared his love of fishing with fellow enthusiasts.
Von will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Michael Vargo, and his mother, Lottie Goodwin Vargo.
