Richard Charles Palmer Jr, age 83, of Westerville, OH, died September 22, 2025, at the Landings of Westerville. Richard was born on September 16, 1942 to the late Richard Charles Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Palmer. Richard was predeceased by his beautiful and loving wife of 54 years, Carole Palmer, and his sister Bonnie.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Ann (James) Brosnan and Richard C. (Suzanne) Palmer III; grandchildren, Trevor, Emilie, Travis (Siobhan), and Shannon Brosnan, George (Briana) and Malcolm Palmer; brother, Robert Palmer; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Richard was a proud Marine, serving as a reservist in the United States Marine Corps. Richard graduated from Linden McKinley High School and was a longtime employee of Timken. Following his retirement, he went on to serve lunch to the children of Alcott Elementary for 16 years.
Richard was a follower and believer of Christ, a member and longtime usher of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Westerville, OH. He loved ice cream, the Browns, Ohio State, cards with friends, Filet-O-Fish, and his OSU ball cap.
Richard was an innovative and self-sufficient man who tackled all home-improvement projects himself and enjoyed woodworking in his free time.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, OH 43082, followed by entombment at Northlawn Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour before the Mass. Rev. Fr. Girardi Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard's memory to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Condolences may be left at www.morelandfuneralhome.com
