Richard F Petrosino, passed away peacefully on Monday October 14, 2024.
Richard wore a perpetual smile and had a gift for being a great friend. An immense life force with an infectious positive energy, determined to live life to the fullest, Rich is an unforgettable soul, remembered fondly by everyone he met.
Richard lived in Fort Lee, NJ where he was born before he was drafted into The United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service and an honorable discharge, he worked as a Components Buyer for Western Electric & New York Telephone. While employed by the telephone company, he was relocated many times from Greensboro, NC followed by St. Louis, MO then to Princeton Junction, NJ where he retired, and finally moved to Four Seasons at Mapleton in Columbus, NJ. After retiring from the telephone company, Richard enjoyed working as Limo driver for A-1 Limousine for nearly 30 years where he got to meet and talk to new people every day.
Rich was passionate about sports whether he was watching his teams on tv or playing. As a young man he played softball, and then coached his daughters' teen softball team. Later he joined a bowling league and was an avid golfer who managed tee times for his buddy group even when he wasn't on the schedule.
But Richard's greatest joy in life and the center of his world was his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and his daughters. Richard wore his heart on his sleeve and wanted to take care of everyone, whether you were family, friend, or even a new passenger in his car.
Richard's kindness, generosity, and optimistic personality was evident in all he did. He was a proud Veteran, a devoted husband, loving father, and caring friend who will be missed by many.
The son of the late Francis and Concetta Petrosino, he is predeceased by his sister, Amelia Kenny, he is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Petrosino, his loving daughters, Lisa and Tamara Petrosino, son-in-law, Ryan Rutherford, his sister, Catherine Relovsky, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
At the family's request, memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to: Vietnam Veterans of America 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910 | 301-585-4000
