Richard P. Pipp, age 86, of White Oak, went to be with the Lord, on April 13, 2025, while at Forbes Regional Hospital. Born on February 15, 1939, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Richard and Pauline (Kerklo) Pipp and his wife Anne Coe Pipp.
Richard's life was marked by service and commitment. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and dedicated 29 years to serving his country as a mechanic, crew chief, and working in construction, attaining the rank of technical sergeant, where he cultivated a passion for aviation that would remain a staple in his life. He was an alumnus of McKeesport Area High School class of 1957 and Ohio University, where he earned an Associate's degree. Richard's professional journey led him to a successful career in construction after his military service, eventually retiring from Ryan Construction. His talents were not confined to his work, actively engaging with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and serving as a Boy Scout leader in Ohio, where he imparted wisdom and guidance to countless young individuals. In addition, he served on the McKeesport Area High School class of 1957 reunion committee.
Richard and Anne's story began when they met at their 40th high school reunion. Their connection blossomed through shared phone calls, letters, and countless road trips to see each other, culminating in a beautiful marriage that celebrated their love for both travel and shared pursuits. Together they went on many trips, combining Richard's fascination with flight and Anne's passion for sailing into unforgettable journeys. While attending Norwin Alliance Church, Richard's faith grew and his commitment to serving others was evident throughout his life. He embodied kindness, generosity, and a spirit of service, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Richard is survived by his brother, John (Linda) Pipp; sisters, Rita Ziska and Christine Overton; step-sons, Douglas Coe and Daniel (Nancy) Coe; step-grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Rachael, David, Rebekah, Daniel, Josiah, Chloe, and Lydia; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Clover, Keeli Rose, Micah, Nehemiah, and Lucas; along with nieces and nephews, including Rachael Neff who was invaluable during his hospitalization.
In addition to his parents, Richard is also preceded in death by twin siblings, Paul and Paulette Pipp; sister, Stella Kosseth; brother, Francis "Frank" Pipp; brothers-in-law, Frank "Buckie" Ziska, Daniel Overton, and Stephen Kossuth.
In this time of reflection, we remember Richard P. Pipp for his many accomplishments and for the warmth, humor, love, and joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. While here he was embraced by the love and gratitude of all whose lives he touched. He was received in heaven by the Lord Jesus for all eternity.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday April 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with burial and military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies to follow.
