Richard J. Plourde, 84, of Farmingdale passed away quietly on Sunday February 16, 2025 with his wife Krystal of 35 years by his side.
Born in St. Agatha, ME on September 11, 1940 to Marie (Albert) Plourde and William Plourde. The family moved to Augusta when he was 2 years old. Raised in Gardiner, ME, he graduated from Gardiner High School in 1959. He had several jobs over the years that included Statler Tissue, and Treefree paper mills. He retired from the City of Augusta Public Works in 2003. He enjoyed auto racing, many sports, time with family and friends, and going "back up north" to St. Agatha/Sinclair, ME every summer.
He is predeceased by his parents, Marie and William Plourde, sisters Theresa Phair and Dorothy Daigle, and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife Krystal, daughter Jill Welch and husband Jim, step-son Michael Hiscock and wife Laurie, grandchildren Kathleen "Katie" Hiscock, Christian Hiscock, and Marin Welch, brother Clifford Plourd, and sister Ramona "Rena" Williams, and several nephews, nieces, and extended family.
Richard was well loved and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
