Richard P. Puglisi, aged 82, passed into eternal life on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, as the son of the late Gaetano and Concetta Puglisi. Throughout his life, he resided in Queens, NY, Parsippany, NJ, and Union, NJ, before finally settling in Flemington, NJ, in 1988. Richard graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School, located in the Bronx, where he took pleasure in playing the saxophone in the marching band. Subsequently, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree from City University of New York (CUNY). Richard began his service in the United States Navy Reserve (USNR) in 1965 and concluded it in 1971. For many years, Richard was a finance executive at Lucent Technologies in Morristown, NJ. He also served as a substitute teacher at Hunterdon Central Regional High School and North Hunterdon Regional High School. Richard had a deep passion for World War II history. During his time volunteering at the Flemington Senior Center, he imparted his historical knowledge to others in a teaching capacity. His experience playing the saxophone in the high school marching band sparked a lifelong love for the instrument. Richard also took pleasure in playing cards with his family and friends. An active individual, he relished spending time outdoors at the beach, where he engaged in fishing, swimming, and boating. Additionally, he found enjoyment in playing bocce ball and racquetball. Richard was predeceased by his parents, and his beloved sister, Lucille Higgins. Richard is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years, Tina F. Puglisi, with whom he entered into holy matrimony on May 14, 1983; three devoted children, Christina and her spouse Ryan Lundrigan of Lansdale, PA, Richard Puglisi and his wife Danielle of Flemington, and Michael Puglisi of Flemington; along with two beloved grandchildren, Lucas and Everett. Family and friends are invited to join together for a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, located at 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Richard's funeral Mass will occur at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, located at 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822, on Thursday, May 29th at 10:00 a.m. The disposition will be conducted privately.
