Richard "Rich" L. Reiter, 81, of Washington, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born August 31, 1943 in Streator, to the late Robert A. and Verneal E. Peters Reiter. He married Martha Bannan on December 26, 1997.

Surviving is his wife Martha; his daughters, Jenny (Gary) Peoples and Jackie Reiter(Chris); his step-children, Angela Boley (Mike Moeckel), Malissa (Perry) Biggerstaff, and

Jerry (Michelle) Bannan; grandchildren, Zoe, Max; Margaret, Maridith; Tyler and Jessica; four great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (Steve) Hancock; sister in law, Sharon Reiter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Reiter and a nephew, Alex Reiter.

Rich graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School in 1961 and attended Illinois State University. He proudly served in the Army for six years and volunteered for two

tours in Vietnam. Rich was a proud veteran and held our flag in high esteem. He retired from Caterpillar after 41 years of service as an electrician and enjoyed spending his days simply-with family, indulging his sweet tooth, and drinking coffee.

Because Rich was looking forward to taking an Honor Flight this fall; please direct memorials to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.

A graveside service with military honors will be held in Minonk, IL at the Township Cemetery at a later date.
