Richard "Rick" Alan Schwartz Sr., age 72, of Ortonville, passed away on July 25, 2025. Richard was born in Highland Park to Arthur and Grace Schwartz. Richard served his country for three years in the United States Army. Rick had a love for many things, but most of all, his family. His grandchildren and great-grandson were his whole world. Richard will be forever missed by those closest to him.

Richard is survived by his children Carly Ann (Matthew) Riddle, Richard Alan (Janell) Schwartz; grandchildren Samantha (William) Goolsby, Gaven Schwartz, Isabell Stepke, Emma Riddle, Alexander Stepke, Lilly Riddle, William Ritchie-Schwartz, Ella Stepke, Ezra Schwartz; great-grandson Oakley Goolsby; mother of his children Charlotte Schwartz; and brothers John (Sherry) Schwartz, Kevin Schwartz.

Richard was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents and his grandson, David Riddle.

A graveside service with Military honors will occur at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The Schwartz family is deeply grateful for any contributions to help cover the cost of Richard's final arrangements during this difficult time.
