Richard Bruce Rothman

Richard Bruce Rothman, age 92, of Highland Park, loving father of Brian (Stacy) Rothman and Anthony (girlfriend Jamie) Rothman; adored grandfather of Brett, Natalie, and Eliza; devoted son of the late Edward and the late Ruth Rothman; cherished brother of the late Stephen (Carolyn) Rothman; dear uncle of Mark (Maryann) Rothman and Robert (Dottie) Rothman; treasured friend to many.

He was such a kind-hearted person who treated everyone he met with courtesy and respect. His love for family and generosity was always at the forefront of his mind. His virtuous traits of compassion and fairness led him to law school. He was a practicing attorney for 50+ years in the city of Chicago. An Army veteran, who had great devotion and love for service and country. He had great loyalty to his alma mater at Northwestern University in which he supported academically and athletically. He had season tickets to Football and Basketball games for decades in which he loved taking his sons and grandchildren. He was an all-around athlete who excelled in numerous sports, including rolling a 300 game in bowling, but his true passion was skeet shooting where he became championship caliber. He loved to travel and created lifelong memories for his family which included, white water rafting, horseback riding, sporting events, European history, and African safari. He had a special spot in his heart for animals and often gave to charities which helped exotic and domestic ones alike. He impacted so many lives in beautiful ways.

Service Sunday will be private. The family will be receiving condolences Sunday, 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Brian and Stacy's residence, 3116 Priscilla Avenue, Highland Park.
