Richard George Springstead, son of Marie Clark-DeWitt and step-son to Todd DeWitt, 57, passed away on Wednesday morning, in his home.
Richard was born May 29th, 1966, in Vernon, NJ. He grew up with many siblings, his mother, and his stepfather. Richard loved the NJ Shore and was happiest fishing on the beach in Seaside. His favorite sports teams were the Yankees and the Cowboys. He loved food and was a great cook.
Richard was a jack of all trades, worked in construction, as a handyman, and painter. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. He had a great sense of humor, and will always be remembered for making people laugh.
Richard is predeceased by his mother Marie, stepfather Todd, and his youngest sister Dana Springstead-DeWitt. He is survived by his siblings: Russ Congleton, and his children; Sherry and Rich Connelly, and their children; Darrin Springstead, and his children; Kristine and Kenny Kuhrt, and their children; and his step-siblings: Henry, Missy and Karen.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ 07405. A funeral service will be held at 4:30pm also at the funeral home.
