Richard A. Stanton, Jr of Bridgewater passed away on June 17, 2022. He was the son of Richard and Viola Stanton of Bridgewater. Dick graduated from Cambridge Ridge and Latin High School in Cambridge. After Graduation, he served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Germany. Once Richard came home, he began his education at Northeastern University, Wentworth Institute. He was accepted to Harvard University graduate program and received his Master of Education Degree in Education. He then entered Boston College and received his Certificate of Graduate Studies in Higher Education.
Richard took his background in education to further assist young people and worked as the Educational Director of the Mo Vaughn Youth Development and Enrichment Program in Roxbury. He also worked at the Science and Math Academy. Richard continued working as a math teacher at Brockton High School and retired to pursue his love as a pioneer as a Jehovah's Witness.
As a full-time pioneer for more than a decade, teaching others and sharing the good news about Jehovah and his son Jesus was the highlight of his life. He and his wife Gloria went to Kentucky to unsigned territory to help others learn more about the Bible. Richard was an ardent student of the Bible. Because he was able to speak fluent German, he was always ready to share with anyone he found in his ministry in the field.

He was a great fan of the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots. Dick was a man of many talents. While in the Air Force he was in a singing group. As a young man he played concert pieces on the piano, and was a great dancer, especially doing the Cha-cha with his wife and daughter.
Richard was the beloved husband of 59 years to Gloria (Todd) Stanton of Bridgewater. Devoted father to Deborah Lynne Stanton-Bianca and her husband Peter of Bridgewater, Richard A. Stanton, III and his wife Janet of Westport, Shannon Stanton Sheldon and her husband Robert of Bridgewater and the late David K. Stanton. Cherished Papa to Takiya, Nicholas, Eli, Cole, and Jude. Great papa to A'Laya and Reign. Loving cousin of Juanita "Jean" Turner of Weymouth, Marshall Stanton of Boston, Percy "Edwin" Hill of Florida, Cary Bell of New York.
