Richard J. Strahsmeier, age 80, of McCandless Twp., on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Beloved husband for 53 years of Carol (Zeller) Strahsmeier.
Loving father of Heidi Hoffman (Peter), Katti Stoller (Sam), and the late Gretchen Bundick (surviving Jason); grandfather of Konrad, Christopher, Brandt, Dylan, Abby, Siena, and Rainer; uncle of John Strahsmeier.
Richard was a proud member of Plumbers Local Union 27. He was a Vietnam veteran serving for the Army in Thailand. He was an avid hunter of rabbits and deer. In his later years, he found peace in his daily drive through North Park looking for animals and admiring the lake. Richard was so proud of his 3 daughters and all of their accomplishments. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and was always a loud supporter at their sporting events. He was a dedicated coach and commissioner for IFPAA softball. To truly know Richard is to know his immense pride in his German heritage; a lifetime member of the Teutonia Mannerchor.
Prost, Richard!
Family will welcome friends on Sunday, March 10th from 2-8 p.m. at Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 (Franklin Park/Sewickley).
