Richard Supplee Obituary
Richard Palmer "Dick" Supplee, 81, of Romansville, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
He was the beloved husband of Jean L. (Woodside) Supplee, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, Dick was the son of the late George E. and Virginia (Reeves) Supplee.
He was a 1961 graduate of Downingtown High School. He attended West Chester University, taking courses to enhance his work abilities.
For many years, Dick was the Farm Manager at SmithKline Animal Health Products' Research Center in East Goshen. In 1993 he was able to realize his life-long dream of managing the family farm full-time-he became a man "out standing in his field". He worked tirelessly and never hesitated to share his incredible knowledge and passion for farming with family and friends.
Dick was a kind and generous person, always willing to stop and help others no matter how much work needed to be done. He had a beautiful smile, a quick wit, and the ability to put everyone at ease. He had a special bond with animals, they instantly trusted him and responded to him.
He loved working side-by-side with his brothers nephews and extended family, Sunday dinners and hosting Christmas Eve with everyone who came to the farm. Dick was grateful and felt truly blessed to be able to live his life doing what he loved with the people he loved.
Dick was a life-long member of Unionville Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of West Bradford Fire Company.
In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his brothers, William E. Supplee, and George H. Supplee, Sr. and sisters-in-law Nancy Supplee, Joan Supplee, Verna Cahill, and Marie Lee.
In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by his brothers Robert Supplee, John Supplee (Judi) and Peter Supplee; sister-in-law, Barbara Supplee (wife of the late George, Sr.) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11:30 am on Saturday, June 21st at Unionville Presbyterian Church, 815 Wollaston Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348, where his funeral service will take place at 12 noon. UPC will live-stream the service (www.unionvillepresbyterianchurch.org)
