Richard Raymond Terrian passed away on Saturday August 16th, 2025 in Missouri Valley, Iowa. It was a sunny afternoon, and he was surrounded by his immediate family and all their love, just as he wanted. Rich was born March 22nd, 1966 in Clay Center, Kansas to Connie and Richard Terrian. Rich is preceded in death by his respected father Richard, of whom he had grown very close to in their later years, and his nephew baby Jack. Rich is survived by his beloved wife Sonya Terrian, and their two children Richie Terrian and LaNae Terrian. As well as; his mother Connie Terrian, his sister Kami Shandy, his sister and brother-in-law Krissy and Eric Eickholt. His mother-in –law Sandy Mosset. His brother and sister-in-law Slade and Debi Connell. His brother and sister-in-law Jacki and Vince Yu. As well as several nieces and nephews: Sam, Matt, Dougie, Cody, and Raelee. Rich is also survived by his lifelong best friend; Jim Menard, of whom Rich considered his brother.

Rich spent his younger years growing up in Wisconsin and Kansas. He graduated high school in Clay Center, Kansas in 1984. He enjoyed playing high school football, and took pride in being a big brother. After graduating high school, Rich moved to Concordia, Kansas and attended Beloit Technical Institute where he obtained a certificate in Farm Equipment Mechanics. He made life-long friends in this town. Rich had a distinguished work ethic, and it eventually earned him a job with the local tree cutting crew, which led to him starting an apprenticeship to become a Journeyman Lineman. Thirty-six years later, Rich retired from his career as a Journeyman Lineman and had the title of Operations Supervisor of the Canon City Black Hills district. His career was one of the many highlights of his life, and he valued his work family and trade with the highest regard.

Rich moved to Colorado and found the love of his life, Sonya, in Canon City, CO. They were married in 1997. They raised their two children in the Canon City area and spent all their spare time in the mountains. Rich loved hunting, attempting to fly fish, hiking, camping, and taking naps under Pine trees. Rich also had a deep connection with the planes, and always made time every year to return to Kansas for his hunting trips. He loved nothing more than a crisp Kansas sunset in the middle of December with his bird dog by his side.

Rich's love and devotion to his wife and two children were unparalleled. His kindness and patience has left life-long imprints on his immediate family, and so many others. He will be missed dearly and has left so much love in all our hearts.
