Robert Edward "Bob" Hamilton

Robert "Bob" Edward Hamilton was born on November 23, 1971, to Larry and Lynnette (Payne) Hamilton. He passed away on December 6, 2025.

Bob was a man of few words, but plenty of love. He grew up in the Canon City area and graduated from Canon City High School in 1991.

Always an adventurous person, Bob loved anything outdoors including hunting, fishing, drag racing and any type of motorcycle. Most all of these endeavors included family and friends. Bob never wanted to be stuck inside when there was so much else to pursue in life! Sturgis was a favorite location and family and friends have plenty of stories and memories to cherish while on those trips.

Bob was a Correctional Officer for the Colorado Department of Corrections. His career began in 2001 in Sterling and ended with a medical retirement from Fremont Correctional Facility in 2025. Prior to that, he worked for the City of Canon City.

Bob loved his family! He especially took pride in his sons John and Larry. His rescue dog Charlie held a very special place in his life.

Survivors include his parents, Larry and Lynnette; his sons, John and Larry; his sister Missy (Bubba); nephews Tanner and Vexlar; and niece Bella; great-nephews Alex and Kohen; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.

Also, survived by his loving partner, Michelle Cofer. Children Cameron, Angiee, and Mallory; grand-children Sophia, Nathan, Benjamin, Daysie, Aengus, Aidan, Aiyana, Ivan, Sigurd and Joseph.

Bob was welcomed "home" by those that passed before him: Grandparents Robert Hamilton (his namesake), Maxine Hamilton and Helen Payne. Aunts Susan Banta and Roberta Swisher. Many cousins and loved ones were also there to greet him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City at 10:00 a.m. with CDOC Honors. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
