Richard Donald Troxell II, known to his family and friends as Rick, passed away on March 31st, 2024, at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick was born April 6th, 1960 to Dick and Peggy Troxell in Canton, Ohio. Rick attended Perry High school where he played football and was a 1979 graduate.
After highschool, Rick enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Barbey FF1088 as a Fire control technician. Rick enjoyed his service in the Navy, sailing to many different countries all across the Pacific Ocean. After his Navy service, Rick returned home to Canton and worked as an electrician for Ansell Perry Rubber where he worked for 17 years until the plant's closing. He then worked at TimkenSteel as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement in 2021.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for deer hunting. He also enjoyed fossil hunting and tending to his 56 acres of woods in Noble County, Ohio. In his down time, he liked reading historical non-fiction, with a great fondness for Civil War era literature. When Rick wasn't in the woods or reading, he enjoyed his time with his family and friends, especially his two grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dick and Peggy Troxell; his sister Lesa Nalley; and his niece Nicole Troxell.
Rick is survived by his son Ricky (Cassie) Troxell; grandchildren Nolan and Aurora Troxell; brother: Randy Troxell; sisters Luanne (Karl) Burgoyne and Kelly (Jim) Reynolds; nephews Justin, Jeff, Scott, Ian, and Kyle; and nieces Julie, Jennifer, Danielle, Kayla, and Kassidy
