Richard David Winegeart, 83, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Baker Heights Church of Christ, located at 5382 Texas Ave, Abilene, Texas. A graveside interment will follow at 3:00 PM at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Richard was a proud navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Shell Pipeline where he worked as a mechanical engineer. Richard loved golfing, watching sports, but was passionate about coaching and cheering on his children and grandchildren in everything they did. He was also known for his daily devotion to reading the Bible, reflecting his strong faith and dedication to the Lord.
Richard's presence and kindness will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and a genuine appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Richard is preceded in death by both parents, his loving wife Mary Winegeart, and his sister Zoan Cochran.
Left to cherish his memories are his brother George Winegeart and wife Maryanne of Louisiana, sons: Richie Winegeart and wife Connie of Kansas, Leslie Winegeart and wife Susan of Corpus Christi, Eddie Winegeart and wife Yvonne of Eula, Daniel Winegeart of Abilene, and Joshua Winegeart of Sweetwater, daughters: Laurie Payne of Lubbock, Kathy Winegeart of Abilene, Mandy Quinones of California, 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and many friends.
